I’ve shot so many weddings in the last 9 years, however there are certain experiences that stand out and one such experience was an elopement that I recently had the pleasure of photographing in Lake Como.
It was an intimate wedding, with just the couple, the celebrant, the wedding planner, and me. We started the day by getting ready in a beautiful suite that overlooked the stunning Lake Como. The bride and groom were excited but also a bit nervous (which is understandable considering the significance of the day) so my job was making them at easy even before starting to take pictures.
The ceremony was held at Villa Balbianello and it was nothing short of breathtaking. The couple was barely speaking, completely amazed by the beauty of the lake and the villa. The ceremony itself was quick but it was packed with emotion. As a photographer I felt great capturing every little moment, every tear and every smile.
After the ceremony, we took some pictures in the surroundings because the beauty of the lake and the villa provided the perfect backdrop for the photos. We then moved back to the villa on a Riva vintage boat, which we used for some of the shots. The boat added a touch of glamour and romance to the shoot and the couple looked absolutely stunning.
The day ended with cutting the cake and taking some last pictures inside the villa and by the pier.
It was a great day and it was amazingly planned by Michela Lunardi, the wedding planner. She made sure that everything ran smoothly and that the couple had the perfect day that they deserved.
As a photographer it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of such a special day. Being able to capture the love, the emotion, and the beauty of Lake Como was an unforgettable experience.
