If you follow me you already know how much I love San Galgano Abbey and how many weddings I’ve shot there.
It’s located in Tuscany, Italy and is a breathtakingly beautiful and historic venue for a wedding. The abbey, which dates back to the 13th century, is a stunning example of medieval architecture, and its open-air design, with no roof, makes it the perfect location for an emotional and romantic outdoor ceremony.
Melissa and Alex exchanged vows in June in this beautiful abbey. As they stood in front of their closest friends and family, the sky above was a brilliant blue, and the rolling hills of Tuscany stretched out as far as the eye could see. The mood was one of love and joy, as the couple pledged their forever to one another in this stunningly beautiful and historic setting.
As the ceremony came to a close and the newlyweds walked down the aisle hand in hand, the guests threw rice (as per the italian tradition) to celebrate the happy occasion. The couple then posed for a photoshoot at sunset, taking advantage of the beautiful golden hour light that bathed the area in a warm glow.
The photoshoot took place at Agriturismo Le Canterie, a beautiful farmhouse located in the heart of Tuscany. Surrounded by lush greenery and rolling hills, the couple posed for romantic and intimate photos, capturing the beauty of their special day.
The farmhouse’s rustic charm and natural beauty were the perfect background and created a beautiful contrast to the grandeur of the abbey. The picturesque landscape of Tuscany, the golden hour light and their love made for an unforgettable and emotional wedding.
As the sun set and the day came to a close, the couple and their guests celebrated with a delicious meal and danced the night away under the stars. It was a day filled with love, joy, and happiness, and the beautiful setting of San Galgano Abbey and Agriturismo Le Canterie will forever be a cherished memory for the couple, their friends and family.
